Renowned actor and recipient of the National Film Award, Ferdous Ahmed has entered the political arena as a candidate for the upcoming national election from the Dhaka-10 constituency, representing the Awami League.

Since launching his election campaign on December 18, Ferdous has been captivating voters with his energetic and extensive campaigning.

Ferdous, known for his stellar career in the film industry, is making his political debut and has been receiving overwhelming support from the people of Dhaka-10. His popularity as a seasoned actor, coupled with his affiliation with the ruling party, has resonated well with the voters.

Traversing through Dhanmondi, Kalabagan, Newmarket, and Hazaribagh, Ferdous has been actively engaging with locals, distributing leaflets, and seeking votes and prayers. Backed by logistics and manpower from Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, the former MP from the same constituency, Ferdous is well-equipped for his campaign.

During his visit to Ward 18 of Newmarket, Ferdous expressed his vision for the constituency, stating, “If I get elected, I will make Dhaka-10 seat a perfect 10 out of 10. This seat is one of the most important and populous constituencies in the whole country. It's time to make the cluttered yet smarter city even smarter.”

Colleagues from the Dhallywood film industry are also rallying behind Ferdous. Veteran actor Misha Sawdagar, a long-time on-screen nemesis of Ferdous, campaigned for him in the Rayerbazar area, emphasizing Ferdous' clean image and suitability for the constituency.

According to UNB, local residents enamoured by the presence of the superstar, are expressing their admiration. Rubel, a tea stall owner in Kalabagan, shared, “As a Dhallywood movie lover, I have been an avid fan of Ferdous. Today he smiled at me, shook my hands, and asked for the vote. I never imagined seeing him in person this close to me.”

Another fan, Rony, who met Ferdous during the campaign, recounted the experience, saying, “I couldn't resist the urge to take photos with Ferdous Bhai in front of me. It was very crowded. Still, after asking to take a picture, he stood and took a picture with us with a smile on his face.”
