Ferdous, Purnima join forces to host National Film Awards

The Ministry of Information has recently unveiled the recipients of the highly anticipated 2022 National Film Awards, a coveted recognition in the Bangladeshi film industry.

This annual event, hosted at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center, will see Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina personally present awards across 27 diverse categories, totaling 33 honors for 17 outstanding films.

Esteemed actors Ferdous and Purnima, known for their impeccable on-stage chemistry, have been selected as this year's hosts.

Ferdous expressing his honor, said, "I am thrilled to host the National Film Awards ceremony for the eighth consecutive year, alongside Purnima for the fourth time. We are currently in the midst of preparations and are in discussions regarding our hosting activities."

The Best Actor Award was claimed by Chanchal Chowdhury for his exceptional portrayal in "Hawa," while the Best Actress Award was jointly bestowed upon Jaya Ahsan for her role in "Beauty Circus" and Reekita Nondine Shimu for her outstanding performance in "Shimu."

The Best Film category saw the joint victory of Mohammad Abdul Qayyum's production, "Kura Pokkhir Shunne Ura," and Md Tamzid Ul Alam's "Poran."

In a tribute to their extraordinary contributions to the film industry, Kamrul Alam Khan Khasru and Rawshan Ara Rozina were honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

The National Film Awards ceremony promises to be a night of celebration, dedicated to recognizing the finest talents in the Bangladeshi film industry on November 14.
