Films ready to hit silver screens across country during Eid

There’s a carnival of surprises in store for the entertainment industry during the Eid holidays. Filmmakers also announce the release date of their upcoming films ahead of Eid. It might be a cheerful Eid holiday for the moviegoers because this Eid, the audience will discover Shakib in a new way. 

But so far, 5 films are confirmed to release in theatres this Eid. Here’s a list of some of the most eagerly anticipated Bengali films in Eid ul Azha 2024:

Toofan

Dhallywood megastar Shakib Khan is all set to enthrall his fans and admirers on the occasion of Eid with the Raihan Rafi-directed film “Toofan”. Produced by Alpha-i Studios, “Toofan” is expecting that the film will be the most commercially successful movie of the year. The film's digital partner Chorki and international distributor SVF are expecting the same.

Since the item song "Laage Ura Dhura" featuring Kolkata's busy actress Mimi Chakraborty and sung by Pritom Hasan dropped on May 28 on YouTube channels, "Toofan" has become a hot topic across both Bengals. The film features a star-studded cast from both Bengals, including Chanchal Chowdhury, Mimi Chakraborty, Jisshu Sengupta, Misha Sawdagar, Fazlur Rahman Babu, and Shahiduzzaman Selim. Notably, it marks the return of Bangladesh's popular actress Masuma Rahman Nabila to the big screen after a long hiatus.

Revenge

Shobnob Bubly-starrer film 'Revenge', directed by Mohammad Iqbal, is slated for release this Eid. The trailer for the movie has already been released, showing actress Bubly portraying the role of a police officer. The main roles are played by Bubly and Ziaul Roshan, with Misha Sawdagar portraying the villain.

Moyurakkhi

Eamin Haque Bobby starrer film, “Moyurakkhi” is poised to be a significant draw for audiences this Eid. Directed by Rashid Polash, "Moyurakkhi" has been long in the making, with multiple release dates being postponed in the past. The film's poster was first unveiled by Rashid on his Facebook page, announcing its imminent Eid release. According to Rashid Polash, the film revolves around a poignant story of love and betrayal, inspired by a true event.

Aguntok

The latest addition to the list of Eid releases is "Aguntok". After receiving clearance from the censor board, the official trailer was released on YouTube. This gripping plot features Puja Chery and Shamol Mawla sharing the screen, with Puja playing an inquisitive journalist navigating through violence and mystery. Directed by Sumon Dhar, "Aguntok" received uncut clearance from the censor board on Monday.

Dark World

Mustafizur Rahman Manik’s directorial venture titled ‘Dark World’ is scheduled to hit cinemas on the occasion of Eid. The film stars Munna Khan, Koushani Mukherjee, Misha Sawdagar, Deepa Khandakar, Borda Mithu, Shiba Shanu, Don, Shimul Khan, Chikon Ali, Shimanto Ahmed and many others. Despite casting popular actress Koushani Mukherjee from West Bengal and featuring talented musicians like Asif Akbar, Imran Mahmudul, and Atiya Anisha, the film's success hinges on Munna Khan's ability to win over the audience with his performance.
