Actress Bidya Sinha Mim, known for her exceptional acting skills, has garnered immense appreciation from cinema enthusiasts. Mim, who won the National Film Award for her outstanding performance, has been a prominent figure in the country's film industry for several years.
One of the most significant year in Mim's acting career was a year ago when her film "Poran" was released, captivating audiences and receiving critical acclaim. Directed by Raihan Rafi, the movie showcased Mim's versatility as an actress, earning her accolades for her compelling portrayal.
Another noteworthy film to be released is, "Digante Fuler Agun," funded by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Directed by Wahid Tarek, this movie dives into the perspective of Shahidullah Kaiser's wife and Shomi Kaiser's mother, Panna Kaiser. Mim's performance as Panna Kaiser sure to leave her fans in awe. The shooting of the film has already been completed.
Panna Kaiser started a family with the famous journalist and writer Shahidullah Kaiser on a golden evening of 1969. On December 14, 1971, Shahidullah Kaiser was captured by Al-Badr force and never came back.
Then a different battle of Panna Kaiser started with daughter Shomi and son Amitabh. She chose teaching as a profession. Inspired by her husband's philosophy, she started writing later. In the autobiographical book “Muktijuddho: Aage O Pore”, Panna Kaiser brought out his life struggle, the days of the liberation war, and above all the different aspects of Shahidullah Kaiser's life.
Reflecting on her role selection process, Mim expressed, "Truth be told, my mother was a simple village girl, a bit tall, and physically resembled Panna. I believe I did justice to her character by delivering a sincere performance."
Despite being a government-funded production, "Digante Fuler Agun" required significant effort from Shomi Kaiser’s Dhanshiri Production.
Mim emphasized, "Challenging as it was, playing Panna Kaiser's character was an opportunity I am grateful for. I dedicated myself to bring out the essence of Aunt Shammi's character."
She extended her gratitude to Shomi, the director, and the entire team of the film for their support and collaboration.
On a personal note, Mim mentioned, "Starting the shooting for this film was a momentous step for me. Even though plans were made to meet with Panna Kaiser, unfortunately, it didn't materialize. Nevertheless, I believe this film will become a cornerstone of my acting journey."
