Internationally acclaimed actress Babita was last seen acting in a movie eight years ago. Since then she was not seen in any new movie. Sometimes she spent time with her son in Canada, sometimes traveled to America, and sometimes spent time on her own residence in the country's Gulshan area.
In the past eight years, many filmmakers have planned to cast Babita in their films. But Babita didn’t work. It is not mean that, Babita is no longer interested in acting in movies. She has a strong interest in acting, but no one has yet approached her with a story that would fascinate her so much. That's why she hasn't acted in any new movie even today.
Babita said, “I don't see the kind of genius, talented script-writer, and director that was in my time like Zahir Raihan, Khan Ataur Rahman, Amjad Hossain, Chashi Nazrul Islam, and many others. We know very well that those persons whose names I have taken were very talented and geniuses. They were ahead of their time. How much they knew, how much they researched, how hardly they made movies. They used to bring up the life story in their movies. If I talk about myself, I don't see another film like ‘Golapi Ekhon Train-a’, ‘Sundori’, ‘Taka Ana Pai’, ‘Pichdhala Poth’, ‘Ananta Prem’. So, at this time, I don't want to act in any story where I only act just for acting. I want to act if the story fascinated me. I don't want to lose what I have achieved in acting all my life. And even if I never act in a movie, I will have no regrets. Good wishes for those who are still working with love for our film industry.”
Babita made her film debut by acting as a child in Zahir Raihan's 'Songsar’. She acted as the heroine opposite Nayak Raz Razzak in her second movie ‘Sesh Porjonto’ under the direction of Zahir Raihan. The movie was released on August 14, 1969. Now she is passing 54 years of her acting career as a heroine, and she is still soaking herself in the love of the audience.
