Akhi Alamgir, a proud icon of the Bangladeshi music scene, has captured the hearts of music enthusiasts in this country with her melodious songs. She has been an indispensable part of stage shows for years, and even today, she remains an irreplaceable figure in the world of live performances.
Her journey into the world of music took an interesting turn when, following the release of her debut solo album "Bisher Kata," she ventured to London for a stage show. It was there that she first crossed paths with the keyboard virtuoso, Partha Pratim Bappi. Since then, Bappi has been a constant presence in Akhi Alamgir's performances, both in Bangladesh and abroad.
In recent years, Mehedi Hasan Shakib, an exceptional octopad player, has also joined Akhi's musical journey. Essentially, Akhi Alamgir's stage shows have become closely intertwined with the talents of Bappi and Shakib. Their absence from any of her performances is inconceivable. Akhi, Bappi, and Shakib have created a musical synergy that captivates audiences everywhere they go.
Notably, Akhi Alamgir's recent performances have taken her to various international stages. She has mesmerized audiences in Belgium, Paris, Venice, and London. Prior to that, she toured India, Muscat, Nepal, and Hong Kong. It's safe to say that in the past year, most of her time has been spent performing on stages around the world rather than in her home country.
Speaking about her collaboration with Bappi and Shakib, Akhi Alamgir said, "As individuals, they are both very modest and down-to-earth people. On stage, I am the artist, and they are the musicians. Beyond that, they are both like family to me. Wherever I go, I treat them with the same respect and dignity as I do with my family. As musicians, they are hardcore professionals, taking care of every detail in my performances. I have immense respect and love for them. I hope to continue this journey with them in the future."
In response, Bappi commented, "In a word, Akhi Alamgir is a golden-hearted person. She can easily win anyone over. Our relationship with her has remained the same since 1998, thanks to her big heart. Her mind is as vast as the sky."
Looking ahead, Akhi Alamgir plans to travel to Canada for international stage shows after her performances in Cox's Bazar on September 6th and Dhaka on September 10th. Once she returns to her home country, she will embark on another international tour.
