IPDC Finance Limited has been awarded Intellectual Property Protection Award 2021 for its contribution to conserve Bangla folk music and promote it among new generation.
The award was announced on an online seminar on the importance of copyright on protecting intellectual property to celebrate International Copyright Day organised by the Bangladesh Copyright Office.
State minister for cultural affairs KM Khaled chaired the programme as chief guest. IPDC managing director, and CEO Mominul Islam, cultural affairs secretary M Badrul Arefin, Department of Patent, Design and Trademarks registrar Md Abdus Sattar, cultural affairs ministry additional secretary Shabiha Pervin, and Bangladesh Copyright Office registrar Jafar Raja Chowdhury attended the program.
IPDC CEO Mominul Islam while receiving the award said they want to present unsung music genres, like folk music, before the global arena.
A virtual platform has been launched by IPDC Finance Limited as IPDC Amader Gaan to uphold Bangladeshi folk music globally, he said.
