After four years of marriage, Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have decided to part ways, as reported by NBC News.
The couple who share two daughters, Willa aged 3 and D. aged 14 months, filed for divorce in Miami, Florida. Court documents indicate that the marriage is "irretrievably broken" and reveal the presence of a prenuptial agreement.
On Tuesday, Joe Jonas submitted the divorce documents to the Miami-Dade County Court, coinciding with reports of their recent house sale in the area. US TODAY first broke the news of their divorce filing.
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas first crossed paths in 2016 when Jonas reached out to Turner through Instagram. Turner later revealed in a 2019 interview with Harper's Bazaar UK that they had mutual friends who had been trying to introduce them. They began dating shortly after and got engaged in October 2017 according to Hindustan Times.
In 2019, the couple had two weddings, a spontaneous one in Las Vegas on May 1, right after the Billboard Music Awards, and a more formal celebration in France on June 29 at Le Château de Tourreau in Sarrians, surrounded by family and friends.
Their journey as parents began in July 2020 when they welcomed their first child, Willa. A year later, they announced their second pregnancy, expressing their excitement and Jonas sharing his thoughts on fatherhood.
However, the divorce filing follows recent reports by PEOPLE that Joe Jonas had hired a divorce lawyer and was still wearing his wedding ring during a performance in Austin, Texas, signaling the end of their four-year marriage.
