In an exciting cross-border musical collaboration, the popular Bangladeshi folk band Joler Gaan is set to captivate Indian audiences as they headline three shows in West Bengal.

The performances are part of the fourth edition of the prestigious "Dum Dum Sangeet Mela" music festival, scheduled to unfold from January 3 to January 7.

The band's journey kicked off with an enchanting performance in Chakdaha, Nadia district, on January 2.

Today, they are slated to showcase their talent at the music festival in Dum Dum, and on Friday, they will conclude their tour with a performance in Haldia, Medenipur district. The band is expected to return to Bangladesh on January 6, as revealed by Rahul Ananda, the band's headliner.

Rahul Ananda expressed his enthusiasm about starting the year with three international shows, stating, "It feels great to perform in West Bengal, where the audience has shown us tremendous love. This tour holds special significance as we fulfil my long-standing wish to sing for the people living alongside the borders of Bangladesh and India," according to The Daily Star.

Highlighting the honor of being the only Bangladeshi band at the "Dum Dum Sangeet Mela," Rahul Ananda shared his pride, stating, "It always feels good to represent my country abroad. I feel very proud as a Bangladeshi."

The fourth edition of the "Dum Dum Sangeet Mela" is being hosted at St Mary's Orphanage and Day School in Dum Dum. Besides Joler Gaan, the festival boasts a stellar lineup, including renowned musicians like Sonu Nigam, Silajit Majumder, Sourendro-Soumyojit, Fossils, Somlata, Iman Chakraborty, Somlata and The Aces, among others.
