Popular Indian musician Nachiketa Chakraborty delivered a powerful performance at the Hatirjheel Amphitheatre in Dhaka on Saturday, captivating the audience with his soulful music and thought-provoking lyrics.

Nachiketa, known for weaving social messages into his songs, engaged the crowd with a playful statement, "I believe that a kiss is better than bribe. Does it sound vulgar?"

The enthusiastic crowd roared with approval as Nachiketa, a multi-talented singer, lyricist and composer, took the stage. Concerns about rain disrupting the concert proved unfounded and the event, titled "Dhaka Melancholy," organised by Blue Brick Communications, ran smoothly.

Event Manager of Blue Brick Communications, Sameen Yasar Priyom said, “We wanted to give a soothing musical experience to our audience. Instead of maximising profits, we think about our consumers' benefits. We don’t want to target mainstream concertgoers, instead, we want middle-aged people to have a show of their own. We're more interested in creating memories”

A surprise highlight came when film star and politician Ferdous Ahmed joined Nachiketa on stage. Their first-ever collaboration in Dhaka was an emotional reunion for both artists. Ferdous who starred in the 1998 film "Hothat Brishti" featuring Nachiketa's music, reminisced about his debut and expressed his admiration for the singer.

Nachiketa's song selection explored themes of ambition, social inequality, and hope for a better future. He performed his hit "Ambition," with lyrics reflecting the diverse aspirations of youth. Nachiketa humorously assured the audience that the latter critique wasn't directed at Bangladesh, as he claimed limited knowledge of the local political landscape.

Fans expressed their delight at the concert praising the powerful impact of his songs. The night lit up with a hopeful note as Nachiketa sang a song expressing belief in a brighter future, with peaceful skies and outdated doctrines becoming relics of the past.

The evening's final performer was Shayan Chowdhury Arnob. For countless fans, Arnob isn't just a musician; he's the soundtrack of their lives. His music has resonated through the years, weaving itself into the fabric of their memories.

"Dhaka Melancholy" struck a perfect chord. The organisers created a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, a far cry from the usual crowded and chaotic concert experience. This drew in a wider audience, with many attendees bringing their parents along. This event sets a new gold standard for concert organisers, demonstrating the power of prioritizing attendee comfort and creating a truly enriching experience.

Nachiketa Chakraborty's Dhaka visit doesn't end here. He is scheduled for another performance at the KIB Auditorium on July 26.
