Miss Universe Bangladesh 2020 titleholder Tangia Zaman Methila will not participate in Miss Universe 2020 competition as preparations to send her to the international event remains incomplete due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
Confirming the matter in their verified Facebook page, Miss Universe Bangladesh authorities on Tuesday said: “Due to lockdown and travel restrictions we could not finalise the preparations. So we will not be able to participate in Miss Universe 2020.”
Miss Universe authorities in the United States was informed about it earlier this week, the Facebook post read.
Methila, who isn’t vaccinated against Covid-19 yet, failed to complete her visa procedures in the face of the Covid-19 lockdown.
A pre-production video of Methila also couldn’t be shot amid the lockdown, Methila told Daily Amader Somoy.
Miss Universe 2020 is scheduled to be held on May 16, 2021 in Florida of the United States.
