Lord of the Rings fans rejoice! Peter Jackson's beloved fantasy trilogy is returning to the big screen this summer in a special re-mastered edition.

Warner Bros. and Fathom Events are bringing back the extended cuts of The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King. But this time, they'll be the stunning 4K Ultra HD versions re-mastered by Jackson himself in 2020.

The theatrical run will be a three-day event, starting with The Fellowship of the Ring on June 8, followed by The Two Towers on June 9 and culminating with The Return of the King on June 10, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Screenings will take place at AMC, Cinemark, and Regal theatres participating in the Fathom Events program. Tickets are already available on the Fathom Events website.

This isn't the only treat for Lord of the Rings fans in 2024. Prime Video's prequel series, “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” is expected to return for a second season sometime in fall or winter.

Additionally, Warner Bros. is releasing an anime film titled “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim” on December 13. This movie explores the backstory of Helm Hammerhand, the King of Rohan who ruled centuries before the events of the original trilogy.
