Mothers of 20 celebrities and journalists have been honoured with ‘Ma Padak 2024’. On the occasion of Mother’s Day, the award ceremony was held at the Dhaka Regency Hotel on Friday evening.
With the initiative of Ali-Rupa Foundation, Madiha Marsiha Advertising has been organising the 'Ma Padak' since 2022. As usual, this year, with the sponsor of Perfect Electronics on the occasion of World Mother's Day 'Ma Padak 2024' was held.
This year, ‘Ma Padak’ was distributed in several categories including cinema, drama, music, dance, administration, education, journalism, and military.
Veteran actress Anowara Begum is honoured with special recognition. Additionally, mothers of artistes including dance exponent Shamim Ara Nipa, actors Ferdous, Richi Solaiman, Rafiath Rashid Mithila, Intekhab Dinar, FS Nayeem, Keya Payel, Emon, Bidya Sinha Mim, singer Luipa, Yousuf, Golam Jilani, Dr Mukta Saha, Santa Sarkar, Deputy Secretary Sheikh Hafizur Rahman (Ministry of Agriculture), Writer-playwright Jamir Uddin Milon, presenter Ruhani Labonya, Land Ministry Assistant Commissioner Saidul Islam Saeed, Journalist Ovi Moinuddin and Sadia Nancy were also honoured with the award.
Apart from the crest, a certificate was also handed over to the honourees of Ma Padak 2024.
After the award ceremony, singer Rashed, Yusuf, Luipa, Labonya and Mithila performed music at the event.
