Medha wins ‘BTEA Best Culinary Artist of the Year’ award again

NPI University of Bangladesh student Marjana Islam Medha has been awarded the BTEA Best Culinary Artist of the Year 2022 award for the 2nd time in a row by the organizing committee.

The BSc (Food Engineering) student was honoured with the award at a prize-giving ceremony organised by the Bangladesh Tourism Explorers Association (BTEA) at the capital’s Kabi Sufia Kamal Auditorium of the National Museum on October 22.
The event was presided over by Shahidul Islam Sagar, chairman of BTEA while the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism President R. A. M. Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury was present as the chief guest. Chairman of Century Group and Director of FBCCI MGR Nasir Majumder was present as the guest of honour. World Travelers Club President Tauhida Sultana Runu and many others were also present at the event as guests.
Marjana Islam Medha was born on 12 July 1999 in the capital’s Mohammadpur region. In 2017, she passed SSC from Trinity School and College, Mohammadpur and passed HSC from Wide Vision College Uttara in 2019. Medha is currently studying at NPI University of Bangladesh in BSc (Food Engineering).
Apart from studying from an early age, she was involved in various cultural and social activities. She has received many awards and accolades for her various works during her student life.
Medha is also engaged in social work. From 2013 to 2016, she has given leadership to the Girls Guide and received several awards.
Her independent thinking from a young age let her to dream of becoming an entrepreneur. Growing up, she never thought that she would fall in love with cooking while her favourite talent was hospitality. Over time, as she heard praise for her food from relatives, she began to wonder why she was not working on this. Her online publicity increased gradually as her reputation for cooking was spreading around.
She launched her online business ‘Medha’s Food Corner’ in 2018. On January 7, 2022, Medha won the BTEA Best Culinary Artist of the Year Award 2021.
Medha’s beloved mother always supported her emotionally. Medha said that she uses her good taste in cooking to transform it into love, she wants to introduce Bengali food to the world.
