In a much-anticipated comeback, renowned actress Mehazabien Chowdhury is set to grace the screens this Eid-ul-Fitr after a two-year absence from dramas. The actress, known for her versatility and captivating performances, took a break from the drama scene, only appearing in the acclaimed series “Ananya” during her hiatus.

Following the success of “Ananya,” which aired on December 16 and received widespread acclaim, Mehazabien expressed her eagerness to return to Eid dramas. Despite the absence of new projects during the past two Eids, fans continued to clamour for fresh content from the talented actress.

"I haven't worked on an Eid drama in the last two years," Mehazabien revealed. "Although some older dramas were aired during Eid, audiences still yearn for new works. If everything goes as planned, I hope to feature in a drama this Eid-ul-Fitr."

However, Mehazabien remains tight-lipped about the details of her upcoming project, including its title, co-stars, and director. "I was drawn to the story and my character in the drama," she hinted. "The script is currently under development, and shooting is expected to commence by the end of this month. Once production is underway, I'll share more details."

During her hiatus from dramas, Mehazabien kept herself busy with OTT (Over-The-Top) projects, garnering acclaim for her performances in numerous web films and series. Projects such as “Kajoler Dinratri”, “Neel Joler Kabyo”, “Sabrina”, “Redrum” showcased her versatility and acting prowess.

Speaking about her foray into OTT platforms, Mehazabien expressed her growing interest in the medium, citing compelling stories and higher production budgets as key factors.

"My interest in working in these mediums has increased because of the diverse stories and higher budgets," she explained.

"When presented with a script featuring a unique storyline or a complex character, it often requires a larger budget for execution. In such cases, the budget of a traditional drama may not suffice, leading the project to be developed for cinema or OTT platforms."
