“Muchachos: La película de la gente”, the documentary on Argentina’s 2022 World Cup win is set to release on Friday at Star Cineplex for the Bangladeshi audience.
The film, directed by Jesús Braceras and narrated by Argentine actor Guillermo Francella, tells the story of the historic win from the viewpoint of fans. Inspired by a short story by Argentine writer Hernán Casciari, Muchachos quickly became the most popular release of December 2023.
The film was initially released on December 7, 2023, almost a year after Lionel Messi lifted the World Cup trophy in Lusail after a dramatic win over France.
Despite being released just three weeks before the end of the year, it quickly became the most watched Argentine production of 2023, making good on its strapline, which translates as “the people’s movie.”
The movie also features rare and exclusive footage from FIFA and shows how the Albiceleste bounced back from the opening loss to secure a third title and features contributions form passionate Argentine football supporters located in all corners of the world.
