A murder case has been filed against former Member of Parliament of Dhaka-10 constituency and popular hero of Bangladeshi film Ferdous Ahmed at Adabar police station in the capital.
The case was filed on Thursday by Rafiqul Islam, whose son Rubel, a garment factory worker, was killed on August 5 in Adabor. Nazrul Islam, Inspector (Investigation) of Adabar Police Station confirmed the case.
According to the case statement, Rubel, a garments worker, joined the protest in the Ring Road area in the capital on August 5, the day Hasina resigned amid a student-led mass uprising.
Rubel was shot and rushed to a hospital where he died while undergoing treatment on August 7.
Around 400 to 500 unidentified persons have been implicated in the case. Shakib Al Hasan is the 28th accused in the case while Ferdous is accused No 55.
Actor Ferdous was elected in the 12th National Parliament election from Dhaka-10 constituency with Awami League's boat symbol. He won the election with 65 thousand 898 votes. And his nearest rival National People's Party candidate Shamsul Alam got 2 thousand 257 votes in mango symbol.
