The teaser of the original series Kaalpurush, directed by Salzar Rahman, was released on YouTube on Saturday evening. The series will be released on Chorki soon.
The nearly one-minute teaser has garnered the most attention for Nayeem, who gained 35 kg for his role in the series. This has created quite a stir on the internet.
Nayeem found the process of gaining so much weight for acting to be a bit challenging. Asked about his body transformation journey, he said, "I did it to get into the character. That means I gained about 35 kg to get close to the way my character walks, talks and sleeps."
"And it wasn't just a body transformation; it was a big mental journey. There was also a depression of carrying this extra body weight for about 8-9 months. Then the shooting. This journey was a penance for me," he added.
Chanchal Chowdhury appears at the end of the teaser, giving a surprise. Tanzika Amin and Jayanta Chattopadhyay will be seen on Chorki for the first time. Imtiaz Barshon, Rezwan Parvez and many others have also acted.
When asked about the story of the series, director Salzar said, "The series is a murder mystery, but it will be presented in a completely different way. Many things happen to Miraj (Nayeem) as he goes about solving a murder case. The story of the series progresses through these incidents."
