Dhallywood actor Nirab Hossain will mark his debut on over-the-top platform with the film Koshai as makers of the suspense thriller opted out to a direct-to-digital release on Eid-ul-Fitr, amid the situation caused by a second wave of the pandemic and the entertainment industry being a sufferer of it.

Written and directed by Anonno Mamun, Koshai will be available to viewers on iTheatre from Eid Day. An official trailer of the film was released on iTheatre’s YouTube channel Tuesday.

The film can be streamed on iTheatre by purchasing a one-day subscription at a cost of Tk 20.

Koshai will have a theatrical release once the Covid-19 situation gets better,” Anonno Mamun told The Business Post on Tuesday adding that his last four films including this one were meant for both OTT and theatrical screening.

Produced under the banner of Celebrity Production, Koshai was shot mostly in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur and in Dhaka in February this year. The film stars Nirab Hossain, Priyo Moni, Rashed Mamun Apu, Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed, Elina Shammi, and Tasnuva Anan Shishir, among others.

Regarding his debut on OTT platform, Nirab told The Business Post: “OTT service has already expanded across the world. It is just a beginning and therefore we cannot yet stand on a point to measure the outcome of this concept”. “OTT let people watch contents at their convenient time and choice which is very helpful in the busy life,” added the actor.

On the workfront, Nirab has films like Casino, Chhaya Brikkho, Phire Dekha, Chokh and Omanush, of which a few have shooting wrapped up and the rest are in various stages of post-production.

As Koshai marks the first collaboration between Nirab Hossain and Anonno Mamun in their fourteen years of acquaintance, their another project titled Omanush has its shooting almost ninety per cent done, said Anonno Mamun, where Nirab will be seen with Rafiath Rashid Mithila in the lead roles.
