In a recent interview on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’, acclaimed actor Peter Dinklage expressed his enthusiasm for "The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes," the highly anticipated prequel to the original film franchise.

Dinklage, known for his role in Game of Thrones, plays the character Casca Highbottom, the Dean of the Academy in the Capitol, who unwittingly gives birth to the concept of the Hunger Games and later regrets his actions.

Describing the film as a "prequel," Dinklage assured potential viewers that prior knowledge of the original movies is not a prerequisite.

He suggested that the new installment may either serve as a standalone experience or inspire viewers to delve into the existing films. The narrative unfolds 64 years before the events of The Hunger Games, introducing audiences to the early days of the dystopian spectacle, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Dinklage revealed some intriguing details about the film's production, highlighting the continuation of the extravagant fashion synonymous with the Hunger Games, now infused with a "Cold War" twist.

The actor also disclosed that the production team utilized the historic architecture of Berlin, lending a unique backdrop to the story.

Opening up about his off-screen experiences during filming, Dinklage shared a rather unconventional pastime. Instead of partaking in the typical party scene, he confessed to finding solace in a park where he trained a bird on his days off.

"The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes" features a compelling storyline centered around the character Coriolanus Snow, portrayed by Tom Blyth, and his mentoring of District 12 tribute Lucy Gray Baird, played by Rachel Zegler.

The duo embarks on a race against time to unveil the true nature of those around them, distinguishing between songbirds and snakes.

The prequel, currently in theaters, promises a fresh perspective on the Hunger Games universe, blending captivating storytelling with the signature elements that made the original franchise a cultural phenomenon.
