In the wake of the mesmerising Marakkuma Nenjam concert by the legendary AR Rahman in Chennai, the programme’s organiser ACTC Events has stepped forward with a heartfelt apology for the unforeseen mismanagement.

CEO Hemanth Raja, in a heartfelt Instagram video, took full responsibility for the incident, urging everyone not to attribute any blame to the maestro himself.

"Our aim was to ensure an unforgettable evening of Rahman sir’s melodies for his devoted fans. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, many were unable to access the venue. We wholeheartedly accept responsibility for this and hold ourselves accountable," expressed Raja.

He emphasised that AR Rahman bore no responsibility for the incident, stating, "He is not to be held at fault. This was entirely our oversight. Please refrain from spreading negativity about him. He delivered his artistry flawlessly, and the majority revelled in it, but we fell short. We take full responsibility."

Raja clarified that ticket overselling was not the issue, attributing the mishap to ticket duplication and overcrowding, according to The Hindustan Times.

Additionally, he assured that the company would facilitate refunds for those who had purchased tickets but were unable to attend the performance, urging them to reach out with their details. His message echoed, "We stand with you."

This unfortunate incident transpired on a serene Sunday, as AR Rahman graced the stage for the Marakuma Nenjam concert at the enchanting Adityaram Palace in Chennai's Paniyur.

The following day, ACTC Events took to X former Twitter to express their gratitude to Chennai and the legendary AR Rahman: "The overwhelming response and immense crowd made our show an extraordinary success. To those unable to attend due to overcrowding, our deepest apologies. We fully acknowledge our responsibility and stand in solidarity with you. #MarakkumaNenjam."
