After a lot of confusion, organisers have finally confirmed that Bollywood superstar Nora Fatehi will perform in Dhaka on November 18.
The announcement came after a press conference hosted by Women Leadership Corporation Founder Maria Mrittika Sharna and Mirror Group Managing Director Shahjahan Bhuiyan at a hotel in the capital on Saturday evening.
The Nora fiasco began after two Bangladeshi organisers announced to bring the Bollywood starlet on stage in Dhaka. Firstly, Mirror Group had to cancel as they did not get government clearance stating the country’s ongoing US dollar crisis.
On the other hand, Nora announced attending another event organised by Women Leadership Corporation in Dhaka.
Later on, Shahjahan Bhuiyan, the managing director of Mirror Group, sent Nora Fatehi a legal notice via email and to her Mumbai residence through a Bangladesh Supreme Court lawyer.
The legal notice stated that she returns the Rs 15 lakh she was paid in advance to perform in an award show organised by Mirror magazine in December and, secondly, not perform in any other show in Dhaka until she returns the Rs 15 lakh.
Both organisers, later on, came to an understanding and jointly hosted the press conference. They told the press that the misunderstanding that was caused by Nora Fatehi's visit to Bangladesh has been resolved.
They also clarified that there are no more complications with her visit to Dhaka.
The organisers announced that Nora Fatehi is finally coming to Bangladesh on November 18 to attend the 'Global Achievers Award-2022’. She will perform on the grand stage organised at a convention centre in Dhaka that night.
She will also change her costume three times during the event. Apart from all of this, she will also distribute prizes among the winners after her performance.
According to the revised deal with Nora, she will be on stage for 40 minutes at the event on November 18.
The 30-year-old actress is currently making headlines for singing and performing in the FIFA 2022 anthem titled ‘Light the Sky’ released recently.
Born and raised in Canada, Nora is of Moroccan descent and a popular actress, model, dancer, singer, and producer in the Indian film industry. She has appeared in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Tamil language films. She made her film debut in the Bollywood film ‘Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans.’
She gained popularity in Telugu cinema by doing item numbers in films like ‘Temper,’ ‘Baahubali:
The Beginning’ and ‘Kick 2’ and has also starred in two Malayalam films, ‘Double Barrel’ and ‘Kayamkulam Kochunni.’
She first gained audience attention back in 2015 when she was a contestant on the Indian reality television show ‘Bigg Boss 9’ and was evicted on Day 84.
