Noted theatre troupe Padatik Natya Sangsad will celebrate their 46th founding anniversary at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), Segun Bagicha in the capital.

Beginning at 4 pm, the celebration programmes include dance, recitation, mime acting, play songs, and performances of parts of the play.

Syed Tasnin Hossain, president of the Padatik Natya Sangsad will preside over the event.

As a part of the event, Padatik will also stage its 41st production ‘Gunjan Bibir Pala’ at 7 pm.

Written and directed by Sayik Siddiqui, the play ‘Gunjan Bibir Pala’ is designed like a traditional pala–a folk theatre form of rural Bengal.

The probable cast of the play includes Mominul Haq Dipu, Moshiur Rahman, Sayeeda Shamsi Ara, Zinia Azad and others. Sanjib Kumar Dey has designed the stage, while Atiqul Islam Joy designed the lights. Choreographed by Sayeeda Shamsi Ara, the music for the play has been done by Hamidur Rahman Pappu and Monir Dewan.

Padatik Natya Sangsad began its journey on 21 January, 1978. Its popular play includes ‘Shojon Badiar Ghat’, ‘{ake Bipake’, ‘Kaal Ratri’, ‘Tin Rostomer Gappa’, ‘Manashar Pala’, ‘Chandrabati’, Shey, Khetmajur Khaimuddin, Poramati, Jal Balika.
