Indian actress Paoli Dam is set to shine again with the lead role in the upcoming government-funded Bangladeshi film "Neel Jochona." Based on Mostak Ahmed's parapsychology novel "Neel Jochonar Jibon," the film will see Paoli portray the female protagonist.
The news was confirmed on Wednesday after director Fakhrul Arefeen Khan signed an official agreement with Paoli in Kolkata. The actor opposite Paoli in the film is yet to be finalised.
However, the director has informed that he will select an actor from Bangladesh to play opposite Paoli. He will announce the decision very soon. Before this, Paoli Dam acted opposite Shakib Khan in the movie 'Satta'.
Regarding acting in Bangladeshi films again, Paoli said, "Last year, director Fakhrul Arefeen Khan contacted me about this film. I heard the story from him first, as I had not read that book then. When I read the book later, I found it fantastic. It can be said that I have been attached to this film since that day. Its formalities were completed last Wednesday."
Talking about Paoli Dam's role in this new film, the director said, "One of the key female characters in our story is Laila, which suits Paoli Dam very well, which is why we chose her for this role first. I hope we can finish this project with Paoli very well."
The shooting of the film "Neel Jochona" will start at the end of next month and will continue until the last week of July.
