Following a strong showing in 27+ Bangladeshi theatres, director Nurul Alam Atique's critically acclaimed film "Peyarar Subash" is ready to captivate audiences in Australia.
The film, starring Jaya Ahsan and the late Ahmed Rubel, arrives in Bankstown's Hoyts Cinemas on February 16th and Campbelltown's Dumaresq Street Cinema on February 18th.
Exploring the complex theme of male dominance within Bengali marriages, "Peyarar Subash" embarks on an eight-year journey from filming in 2016 to its February 9 Bangladeshi release this year.
Jaya embodies the titular Peyara, supported by a cast including Tariq Anam Khan, Sushoma Sarkar, and Rubel, whose tragic passing due to a heart attack occurred just before the premiere. The film is dedicated to his memory.
Produced by Alpha-i Studios and co-produced by Chorki, "Peyarar Subash" garnered international recognition with its official selection in the main competition category of the 45th Moscow International Film Festival.
