Dance artist, choreographer and artistic director of Turongomi Pooja Sengupta has received an official invitation to attend the ‘Kiram Arts Festival’ in Kalimantan island of Indonesia, being organised by the Government of Indonesia.
At the festival, Pooja Sengupta will perform a performance arts production titled “Macbeth”. Being inspired by Shakespeare’s Macbeth, this production by Turongomi reflects the relevance of Macbeth in present day world. The 5 minute performance art production is conceptualized, designed, choreographed and directed by Pooja Sengupta. Pooja Sengupta’s participation is supported and sponsored by the Government of Indonesia. The artistic director of Turongomi Repertory Dance Theatre, left Bangladesh for Indonesia on Monday.
“I will perform at the event on November 9. Besides, I will conduct a workshop on production design and direction at the event”, said Pooja Sengupta.
The festival is scheduled from 8-12 November 2023. The participating countries are Bangladesh, Malaysia, Philippines, Australia, Hongkong, Italy, Ghana, Mexico, India, Taiwan, Netherlands, Morocco, Cambodia, Germany, Thailand, New Zealand, South Korea, China and Indonesia.
