Dhallywood's star Pori Moni gave birth to a baby boy at the Evercare Hospital in Dhaka on Wednesday evening. Sariful Razz, her husband, confirmed the good news to The Business Post and said that both the mother and the newborn are healthy.
Earlier, Pori Moni confirmed her pregnancy in early January of 2022 and announced that she would take a one-year break from acting.
Shamsunnahar Smrity, popularly known by her stage name Pori Moni, entered the film industry with the film ‘Rana Plaza,’ based on the Rana Plaza disaster. However, the film was denied certification by the Bangladesh Film Censor Board. Her second but first released film was ‘Bhalobasha Shimaheen,’ on 13 February 2015.
Her notable works include ‘Aro Bhalobashbo Tomay,’ ‘Rokto,’ and ‘Swapnajaal.’ She was listed in Forbes Asia’s "100 Digital Stars" magazine in December 2020.
