Bollywood actress Preity Zinta has begun filming for director Rajkumar Santoshi's period drama "Lahore 1947," marking her return to acting after a six-year hiatus.

Offering a delightful glimpse into the film's production, Preity shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos on social media, expressing her excitement.

Among the snapshots, one showcased the film's clapperboard with Preity captioning it, "On set for Lahore 1947." Another image depicted a candid moment between the actor and director Rajkumar Santoshi, hinting at the camaraderie on set.

Produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, Lahore 1947 features Sunny Deol in the lead role. The film, announced officially last October, has attracted attention for its star-studded cast and promising storyline, according to Hindustan Times.

Adding to the anticipation, veteran actor Shabana Azmi and Ali Fazal have also joined the ensemble cast in pivotal roles. Notably, the movie will witness Sunny Deol sharing screen space with his elder son Karan Deol, who debuted in his father's 2019 directorial, “Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas.”

Of significant interest, Preity's last cinematic venture, “Bhaiaji Superhit,” also starred Sunny Deol in 2018. The duo has previously collaborated in films like “Faz” (2001), “The Hero: Love Story of a Spy” (2003), and “Heroes” (2008).

Regarding producer Aamir Khan, he and Preity were paired together in Farhan Akhtar's cult directorial debut “Dil Chahta Hai” in 2001. Lahore 1947 marks the first collaboration between Preity Zinta and Rajkumar Santoshi, marking her return to the screens after a hiatus of six years.
