Renowned Bangladeshi singer Monir Khan's melodious rendition of the title track in the film ‘Premer Taj Mahal’, directed by Gazi Mahbub, had garnered immense popularity. This song marked a turning point in Monir Khan's career as it won him his first National Film Award.

The song's lyrics were penned by the late eminent lyricist and composer Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul, while the music was composed by the legendary music maestro Bari Siddiqui.

Collaborating with Monir Khan in this song was the accomplished singer Kanak Chapa, known for her distinct contribution to the Bangladeshi music industry. The song not only transformed Monir Khan's career in the film industry but also held a special place in his heart.

Monir Khan expressed, "It's an absolute truth that Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul's rendition of the song ‘Premer Taj Mahal’ transformed my life. As a playback singer, a new journey began for me after singing this song. I am forever grateful to my elder brother Bulbul for challenging me in many ways and giving me the opportunity to sing this song. Thanks to him, I received my first National Film Award after performing this song."

The song's influence extended far beyond the film industry, becoming a signature tune that Monir Khan performs at various stages across Bangladesh and beyond. "It has become a sort of anthem for me, wherever I go, whether in Bangladesh or abroad, performing on stage," Monir Khan shared.

Meanwhile, Monir Khan's musical journey continues with his new release, ‘Dhu Dhu Baluchor’, with lyrics by Hafizur Rahman and music composed by Milton Khandakar.
