Kolkata's renowned actors, Prosenjit Chatterjee and Rituparna Sengupta, are set to grace the silver screen together once again, courtesy of director Kaushik Ganguly. The announcement came during the Durga Puja festivities.
According to Anandabazar, Prosenjit Chatterjee organized a "Vijaya Sammelan" for industry insiders in Baliganj after Durga Puja. When Rituparna arrived on Thursday evening, she was warmly welcomed by Prosenjit. During the event, the duo announced their 50th film together.
In a video that has since gone viral on social media, Prosenjit stated, "Rituparna and I are pairing up for the 50th time. I don't think there's any actor-actress duo in India, or perhaps even in the world, who have acted together in 50 films. This journey has been successful thanks to your love and blessings."
Although the news of this film was previously revealed by director Kaushik, he assured, "You won't find the story of any happy couple in Prosenjit-Rituparna's films. However, the audience will leave happy after watching the end, I can guarantee that much."
Their first collaboration was the 1994 film 'Naag Panchami', which became an instant hit. Following this, they delivered multiple films that captured the hearts of the audience.
Then, in 2016, this dynamic duo made a grand return in Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee's film 'Praktan'. Two years later, Kaushik brought them back together in the superhit film 'Drishtikone'.
It is evident that Prosenjit and Rituparna's on-screen chemistry has stood the test of time, and fans can hardly wait to witness their magic once more in this milestone 50th film.
