Popular film actress Purnima has been recently appointed as a member of the Bangladesh Film Censor Board, a move that has been met with excitement from her fans and the film industry.

Purnima's appointment comes on a particularly significant date for her career. May 15 marks the anniversary of her debut as a leading actress in Dhallywood films. In 1998, she starred opposite Riaz in the film "E Jibon Tomar Amar" directed by Jakir Hossain Raju.

Coincidentally, May 15 also marked Purnima's first day as a censor board member. She wasted no time in diving into her new role, attending a film screening and participating in discussions with fellow board members.

"There was a different kind of satisfaction working inside me," Purnima said about her first day. "The other members welcomed me, and we all enjoyed a movie together. There were also discussions about films awaiting censorship, and what could be done to move them forward."

Purnima expressed her commitment to her new role, saying, "It is my responsibility to bring good films to the Bengali audience, and I want to fulfill this responsibility properly."

While she hasn't begun any new acting projects yet, Purnima will juggle her censor board duties with her existing commitments. She is scheduled to finish shooting a song for the upcoming film "Gangchil" directed by Noyeem Imtiaz Neamul, alongside actor Ferdous.
