Director Raihan Rafi, whose blockbuster film “Toofan” is currently being screened in theatres across India, has announced plans for three sequels to the film. In a recent interview with Anandabazar Online, the talented director shared details about the upcoming projects.

When asked about the preparation for the “Toofan” sequel, Rafi responded, “During the censoring of the film in India, the censor board also wanted to know when the sequel would be released. We have planned to make three sequels, and the second part will be announced very soon.”

Rafi also discussed various topics in his interview with the Indian newspaper, including the audience response to “Toofan” in India. He stated, “We are receiving very positive feedback. Those who watch the film enjoy it. I want to emphasise that the film was made with a straightforward narrative to resonate with the majority of Bengali viewers. From the beginning of the campaign, I said that ‘Toofan’ is a film similar to ‘KGF’, ‘Pushpa’, or ‘Animal’.”

Despite the positive audience response, “Toofan” has faced criticism from reviewers in Kolkata. Some critics opined that the film has not performed well in terms of business in India. Addressing this, Rafi said, “See, after the release of films like ‘Pathaan’ or ‘Animal’, there were both good and bad reviews. I know some critics may not have liked ‘Toofan’ very much, and I respect their opinion. It is challenging to please both classes at the same time. We will do better in the coming days.”

Rafi also spoke about the challenges of making films in Bangladesh and urged Bengali audiences to watch Bengali movies in theatres.

It is noteworthy that the Raihan Rafi-directed film was released in theatres across Bangladesh during Eid-ul-Azha. The movie premiered in over 100 theatres across 15 countries.
