Actor Shariful Razz and Indian actress Swastika Mukherjee are going to work together for a film titled “Alta Banu Kokhono Jochsna Dekheni” under the direction of Himu Akram. The shooting of the film is scheduled to begin in the middle of next July.
Confirming the news, the film's director Himu Akram said, “I am going to work with Razz and Swastika. They already have signed a contract for the film. Look sets for both are also finished. Hopefully, we will be able to start shooting within a month.”
Popular small director Himu Akram announced his debut film “Alta Banu Kokhono Jochsna Dekheni” at the beginning of September last year. He also said that Tollywood actor Swastika Mukherjee will play the title role in the project.
At that time, the director could not tell who would act opposite her. Shariful Razz is Swastika’s hero in Himu Akram’s debut film. Director Himu Akram confirmed the news to the Business Post on Thursday.
Indian actress Swastika Mukherjee signed the film in June last year. Earlier, Swastika acted in the Indo-Bangla joint production “Sobar Upore Tumi” along with Shakib Khan. Directed by FI Manik, the film was released in November 2009 in Bangladesh. But, “Alta Banu Kokhono Jochsna Dekheni” will be Swastika's first solo Bangladeshi film. In this regard, Swastika Mukherjee said in a video message, "After hearing the story and reading the script, I agreed to do the work. But it has been a long time and still, the shooting has not started. I have not received the final schedule yet. But I heard, it may start in July. Waiting for the shooting.”
Himu Akram said, “The film ‘Alta Banu Kokhono Josna Dekheni’ is a dark thriller. Altabanu’s character has many layers. As a maker and storyteller, I thought that a strong actor was needed here. A man must have three looks for the project. It is difficult to match the character from there. I talked to many for the character. Finally, I think Sariful Razz is perfect for the role. He will play three different characters- Prem Chand, Shuruj Mia, and Moinul Islam in the movie.”
The filming will take place at different locations across the country, including Saidpur upazila of Nilphamari district, Sundarbans, Rajendropur Shalbon, and Old Dhaka.
Aside from Swastika and Razz, Iresh Zaker, Mamunur Rashid, Sohail Mondal, and others are set to join the cast.
Directed by Himu Akram, the screenplay is a collaboration between Akram, Mohammad Nazim ud Daula, and Mohammad Nazim Uddin.
