Richi Solaiman, a celebrated actress in Bangladesh's media industry, for the first time, has acted in the web film titled ‘Girgiti’. Directed by Bijoya Jena and written by Satyaki Tarafdar, Richi completed the work of the web.
Recently, Richi returned Dhaka after completing the shooting for this web film in Kolkata. In the film, she portrays the role of a police officer Shovona, who unravels the mystery behind a murder.
Regarding her first experience acting in a web film, Richi said, “'I met RTV's Ashique Bhai at an event in America. He proposed me work together. I told him that I would only take up projects with stories and characters that resonate with me. Ashique Bhai was unaware that I was staying in Dhaka. He then said he was preparing a web film for me to work on. Eventually, through Ashique Bhai's planning, I ended up working in 'Girgiti'.”
“The entire project was shot in Kolkata. Everyone except me is from Kolkata. The work has been done with great care. In our country, stories centering around women are rare, which deeply disappoints our artistes. However, 'Girgiti' is a female lead web film. Since the entire work was done in Kolkata, they did it with their hundred percent professional responsibilities. I believe this work will captivate the hearts of the audience.”
Produced by Bengal Multimedia Limited, the web film 'Girgiti' will be broadcast on 'RTV Plus' on a special day soon.
Richi Solaiman is no stranger to the world of theatre, having previously showcased her acting prowess in a variety of productions. Looking ahead, Richi is scheduled to depart for the United States on October 6th. She is expected to return in the first week of November, eager to dive into her role in the drama.
