Legendary singer Runa Laila will be receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award at the upcoming BIFA Awards.
The award ceremony will be held on March 2 at the Bangabandhu International Convention Centre in Dhaka.
This is the first time that the BIFA Awards will be presenting a Lifetime Achievement Award. Runa Laila was selected for the award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the music industry.
Runa Laila has had a long and illustrious career, spanning over five decades. She has released over 10,000 songs and has won numerous awards, including the National Film Award and the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Award.
In addition to the Lifetime Achievement Award, the BIFA Awards will also be honouring other artists in total 45 categories, including film, television, music, and dance.
The jury board includes actress Rozina, singers Khurshid Alam and Ferdous Ara, actors Azizul Hakim, Tanvin Sweety, and Deepa Khandakar, and playwright and director Zinat Hakim.
The award ceremony will feature performances by popular singers and actors, including Tanjin Tisha, Toma Mirza, Hridoy Sheikh, Dighi, Jafar Rahman and many more. The main event will be hosted by actor Abdun Noor Sajal and actress-host Masuma Rahman Nabila.
Runa Laila is a Bangladeshi singer who is considered one of the greatest playback singers of all time. She began her singing career at a young age and quickly rose to fame.
Runa Laila has sung songs in a variety of languages, including Bengali, Urdu, Hindi, and English. She has also performed in a number of films.
