To honour the invaluable contributions of mothers in society, private television channel RTV hosted the second annual "RTV Shwapnojayi Maa Sammanana" award ceremony on the occasion of International Mother's Day.

Held at the Bengal Multimedia Studio in Tejgaon, the ceremony featured Social Welfare Minister Dipu Moni as the chief guest. The awards recognized mothers who have played a pivotal role in their children's achievements.

One such honouree was Jesmine Kabir, mother of popular television actress Safa Kabir. While Safa's path to success veered from her mother's dream of a medical career, Jesmine's unwavering support and encouragement have been instrumental in Safa's journey as a celebrated actress.

Minister Dipu Moni acknowledged the immense sacrifices mothers make for their children's well-being.  "A mother's love is an unfailing source of comfort and strength," she said. "Their dreams are intricately linked to their children's success, and their contributions are invaluable."

Safa Kabir, visibly touched by her mother's recognition, expressed her gratitude.

"I don't know how much I have been able to please my parents with my work. But I think I have taken a step forward in making them happy and proud through this honour. My mother is at least a little happy to receive this honour. When I decided to act after high school, many people around me told my mother all sorts of things. They also said that you can't achieve anything here by acting. So, for them, this award is a big answer. I am happy with that," she said.
