In a collective effort to address the escalating crisis in Gaza, Selena Gomez, along with a notable group of artists, has penned an open letter to US President Joe Biden. The initiative, supported by organizations Oxfam America and ActionAid USA, implores for immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in the region.

The Open Letter Reads:

"Dear President Biden, We come together as artistes and advocates, but most importantly as human beings witnessing the devastating loss of lives and unfolding horrors in Israel and Palestine. We ask that, as President of the United States, you and the US Congress call for an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Gaza and Israel before another life is lost. More than 5,000 people have been killed in the last week and a half – a number any person of conscience knows is catastrophic. We believe all life is sacred, no matter faith or ethnicity and we condemn the killing of Palestinian and Israeli civilians."

List of Prominent Signatories:

The letter is endorsed by a range of influential figures including Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid, Jennifer Lopez, Zayn Malik, Anoushka Shankar, Ben Affleck, Bradley Cooper, Channing Tatum, Drake, Dua Lipa, Joaquin Phoenix, Joe Alwyn, Kristen Stewart, Michael Moore, Sarah Jones, and others, as indicated on the official website, artists4ceasefire.org.

Gomez's Advocacy for Gaza:

This call for action comes shortly after Selena Gomez announced her hiatus from social media. In a statement, she expressed her disapproval of the ongoing conflict, asserting, “I am taking a break and deleting my Instagram. I'm done. I do not support any of what's going on.” Gomez, who had been previously critiqued for her response to the situation, emphasized the need to protect all individuals, especially children, and advocated for an end to violence.
