Celebrated actress Shabnoor, an iconic figure in Dhallywood, is poised to return to the silver screen with a new project titled 'Matal Hawa,' directed by Chayanika Chowdhury.

The announcement of her comeback was made on Sunday, coinciding with the actress's 45th birthday.

Director Chayanika Chowdhury, confirming the exciting news on her verified Facebook profile, expressed her delight at bringing together Shabnoor and prominent actor Mahfuz Ahmed for the film. The movie, based on a story by Mahfuz Ahmed and penned by Raihan Khan, has been in the works for the past four months.

Chayanika revealed that the idea for the film emerged after a conversation with Shabnoor, coupled with the success of Mahfuz Ahmed's return to the screen in the director's previous film, 'Prahelika.' Emphasizing the importance of careful planning, Chowdhury stated that the shooting would commence when both the actors and the team are fully prepared.

"We are not in a hurry since she (Shabnoor) will perform after such a long time! There should be planning. Furthermore, we want this film to outperform 'Prahelika.' Our goal is to make great cinema," Chayanika mentioned.

Shabnoor, who had been residing in Australia for over a decade, recently returned to her homeland after three years. The actress, known for her successful collaborations with late superstar Salman Shah and other leading actors in Dhallywood, is expected to mark her comeback in grand style with 'Matal Hawa.'

The film is scheduled to hit theaters during one of the Eid festivities next year, as per various sources.

In celebration of her birthday on December 17th, Shabnoor visited Dhaka to partake in a familial celebration at Robi Chowdhury's residence. The gathering attended by notable personalities including actor Amit Hasan, film director Mushfikur Rahman Guljar, actress Aina, and singer Kona, featured storytelling and musical performances, creating a joyous atmosphere.
