The most interesting episode of the 22nd Dhaka International Film Festival on Friday, was the press meet programme of famous Indian actress Sharmila Tagore. Journalists and spectators were present at the press meet at the Dhaka Club located in Ramna area of the capital city Dhaka. On this day, she highlighted various chapters of his life in various words.

In response to a journalist's question, Sharmila Tagore reminisces about the beginning of her acting career. Sharmila Tagore talks about Satyajit Ray, the world-renowned director of Bengali films, whom she traditionally addressed as 'Manikda'. She said, “Acting in movies started with Apur Sansar. I was a 13-year-old girl. Manikda called one day and told about acting. I am very lucky. I didn't have to go through any difficult struggle.” She said immediately, "If Manikda hadn't called me that day, maybe I wouldn't have had a career in cinema, I would have done something else."

She then narrates her own success story amidst the male-dominated stories of her time in Bollywood. In the context of a question, while drawing a comparison between Bollywood movies of that time, she said, "There are many women-led stories in Bollywood now. Actresses like Vidya Balan are working.''

Sharmila Tagore called her life journey like other women in cinema 'Body Clock'. She said that she decided to get married when she was at the height of her career. Many people warned that if you get married, your career is over. But without listening to anyone, she decided to get married, decided to become a mother. Throughout the period, she narrated the story of the evolution of Bollywood cinema, her life, the marriage of the Nawab family.

Then another Indian actor, singer Anjan Dutt was also present at a press meet at the National Museum. There he also presented his experience in various stories.

Earlier on Friday, the 'West Meets East Screenplay Lab' a side event of the film festival, concluded. Through this, the exchange of ideas between the producers, distributors, mentors and other staff of the world films with the makers and cinematographers of the 10 selected South Asian movie projects has ended. Three of these projects are going to be nominated for funding, mentorship and other benefits at “Film Hat”.
