A 15-day solo art exhibition of artist Shohag Parvez titled “Panoramic Bengal” is underway at Galleri Kaya, Uttara in the capital. 

The inaugural ceremony of the exhibition was held on Friday at the gallery premises, while writer Anisul Hoque and Shomi Kaiser, Actress, Vice President, FBCCI & President, e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh were present. 

Organised by Galleri Kaya, the exhibition showcases a selection of 56 works done in watercolor, charcoal, acrylic, oil, pen & ink on paper & canvas.

Shohag Parvez was engrossed with painting as well influenced by the cultural environment from his teenage days.

He was admitted to the college of the village to learn painting. From the beginning, he used to love villages; always preoccupied with practicing paintings in a sketchbook. He wandered around rural local neighborhood, also depicting buffalo & bullock carts, rivers & streams, marshy lands, and sometimes cultivated agricultural land.

From his college days, by practicing drawing & watercolor, he had created a unique image of Bangladesh in his heart.

Shohag Parvez is a promising successful painter of the present time. He did almost 3000 book covers and illustrations for both grown-ups and children’s books. He has participated in more than 50 art camps in his own country and abroad.

His mainstream subjects are presenting Bangladesh through paintings on canvas & paper in various materials. He roams around the country observing life & nature and creates paintings of flat land, mountainous region, rivers & streams, canals, marshy land, sailboat, village population, the daily life of hard-working people, gipsy life, Shantals, Murongs, and others.

The exhibition will remain open to all every day from 11: 30 am to 8:00 pm, until October 27.
