Singer Khalid laid to eternal rest in Gopalganj

Renowned band singer Khalid Anwar Saifullah was laid to rest beside the graves of his parents after Zuhr prayers in Gopalganj. Before the namaz-e-janaza, Gopalganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Mohsin Uddin, Khalid’s elder brother Mezba Uddin Hasan, and other organizations paid tribute to the singer. Popular band singer Khalid passed away on Monday evening. He was 60.

He breathed his last around 7:15pm at a city hospital while undergoing treatment there, lyricist and composer Prince Mahmud confirmed.

Khalid started his musical journey in 1983 when he founded the band Chime accompanied by other members.

Khalid is best known for his songs  "Nati Khati Bela Gelo", "Tumi Jano Nare Priyo", "Kirtankhola Nodite Amar", "Ek Ghorete Bosot Kiira", "Oi Chokh", "Satkhani Mon Bejechhi Amra", "Shorolotar Protima", “Jodi Himaloy Hoye", "Kono Karonei", "Abar Dekha Hobe", and "Ekhoni Shesh Dekha Noy" among dozens of other hits during the 90's and 2000's.

Other songs like "Hoyni Jabar Bela", "Shurutei Shob Kichhu", "Shesh Kore Keno Chole Gechho", and "Ghumao" are some of the hit tracks loved by the young generation.

Born in Gopalganj, the singer started his journey in the world of music in 1981.
