In a surprising turn of events, actress Sophie Turner has reportedly filed a request to drop the child abduction claims she previously made against her estranged husband, singer Joe Jonas.

The legal action was initiated in September, where Turner sought "the immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained," as per court documents.

After three months of negotiations, the former couple has seemingly reached an amicable custody agreement over their daughters, three-year-old Willa and 18-month-old Delphine. Attorneys for both parties have jointly approached a federal judge in New York, requesting the dismissal of Sophie's previous filing, marking a significant step towards resolution in their ongoing divorce proceedings.

In her initial September filing, Turner accused the Jonas Brothers singer of initiating the "wrongful retention" of their children on the 20th of that month. Allegedly, the couple had agreed during Christmas 2022 to make Britain their "forever home" and were in the process of exploring schools for their eldest daughter.

Joe Jonas countered Sophie's claims, asserting that she withheld their daughters' passports, preventing them from leaving the United States. Despite the differing narratives, both parties now appear to be in agreement to put an end to the legal dispute.

A representative for Joe Jonas commented on the situation, stating, "This is an unfortunate legal disagreement about a marriage that is sadly ending. When language like 'abduction' is used, it is misleading at best and a serious abuse of the legal system at worst."

The divorce saga began when Joe filed for divorce from Sophie in September 2023, after four years of marriage. The former couple has been embroiled in a bitter custody battle over their two children, reaching a temporary custody agreement in October, set to last throughout January 2024.

Sophie Turner has since moved on with British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson, 29, while Joe Jonas has been spotted with 33-year-old model Stormi Bree. Although the judge has yet to sign off on the dismissal request, the mutual agreement between the ex-spouses makes it highly likely to be approved, signalling a potential resolution in their complex legal proceedings.
