Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming movie, "Jawan," has set a remarkable pre-sales record in India and overseas. The film, slated for release in five days, has already raked in over a million dollars in advance bookings for its first day. As of Friday night, overseas pre-sales for "Jawan" have reached an astonishing $2 million for the weekend, with about half of that coming from Thursday.

Interestingly, "Jawan" is outselling "Pathaan," another Shah Rukh Khan starrer, in most regions, except Australia and the UAE. In Australia, "Pathaan" had the advantage of being released on a national holiday, so "Jawan" was not expected to match its pre-sales. Nevertheless, "Jawan" is still surpassing other recent releases, like "Brahmastra," by a significant margin, according to Pinkvilla.

In the Middle East, the film has garnered over $225,000 in pre-sales for the first day, with the UAE leading the way at nearly 9,000 tickets worth $125,000. In Saudi Arabia, "Jawan" is ahead of "Pathaan" and is poised to set new opening records in this growing market.

North America is contributing significantly to the pre-sales, with nearly $450,000 for the first day and double that for the entire weekend. In the US, "Jawan" is outperforming "Pathaan" by almost 60%, while Canada's advance bookings are 10% ahead of "Pathaan."

The United Kingdom reports sales exceeding £125,000 for the first day, with 11,500 tickets sold, once again surpassing "Pathaan" at the same stage.

Overall, these pre-sales numbers bode well for "Jawan's" opening. While "Pathaan" currently holds overseas opening records for Bollywood films, "Jawan" is poised to break the first-day record with a possible start of over $5 million. If the film receives a positive reception, it could even surpass $20 million in its four-day extended weekend. More clarity on this front will emerge in the coming days, with final pre-sales figures expected by Wednesday night.
