Jagannath University (JnU) is gearing up for a charitable event as Tasrif Khan and his band 'Kureghor' headline a concert on February 28.

The purpose of the event is to raise funds for the treatment of Zaheer Uddin Shakhawat, a former student of the university's Marketing Department from the 2016-17 academic year, who is battling blood cancer.

The concert, scheduled to commence at 3 pm, will take place in the science faculty premises of the university. In addition to 'Kureghor', renowned bands such as Metro life, ODD Signature, Pratibimbo, and Chandergari will also grace the stage, adding to the allure of the event.

Al Shahriar Shawon, representing the organisers and a student from the academic year 2020-2021, expressed the altruistic motive behind the initiative, stating, "We have taken this initiative to collect money for Zahir bhai's treatment. He is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital. Now around Tk 20 lakh is required for his treatment. We have taken the initiative to think about this.”

The organisers have set the ticket prices at Tk 100 for Jagannath University students and Tk 150 for outsiders.
