In an unexpected turn of events, the Bangladesh Celebrity Cricket League (CCL), aimed at boosting the morale of the national cricket team for the upcoming World Cup, faced an unforeseen delay on September 29 at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium.

Following the incident, the culprits responsible were identified and legal proceedings have been initiated against them. Now, it has been confirmed that the CCL is set to return to the field.

According to an official statement released by the organisers, the remaining matches of the tournament will be held between October 15 and 20.

The statement read, "Following discussions with the captains of all teams, we have reached this decision. The matches that were suspended during the group stage will resume from that point. Furthermore, the final match will be concluded between October 15 and 20."

Regarding the on-going investigation, the organisers stated, "Those who disrupted the game from within will be dealt with in accordance with the prevailing laws of the country. However, out of respect for the investigative process, we refrain from disclosing the names of the police station and the accused."

The CCL features a total of eight teams, each comprising a mix of male and female celebrities, with a total of 16 members per team. However, only eight individuals actively participate in the matches, including at least two female celebrities.
