A three-day international art camp featuring live watercolour, demonstration, workshop, and exhibition has begun at West Beach of Saint Martin’s Island.

Thirty artists from Bangladesh, India, and Nepal are participating in this camp.

Organized by artist group White Paper, the art camp titled 'Blissful Saint Martin’s Island' was inaugurated on Monday morning. The opening ceremony was held at Abakash Point. Moderated by Sonya Binta Hasan, artist SM Wahidiuzzaman, Shahanoor Mamun, Indian artist Achintya Hazra and Nepali artist NB Gurung jointly inaugurated the event.

The inauguration ceremony comprises a cultural programme, live watercolour demonstration, and artistic exchange.

NB Gurung said, “It's important for artists to participate in art camps with other nationals. Although art has a universal language, sharing and learning from others is important to grow as an artist. I’m happy to participate here as a guest, I hope I’ll learn many things from this art camp.”

“This is the first time I have come to Bangladesh. I am happy to participate in this art camp with Bangladeshi and Nepali artists. I hope this camp will help us to collaborate on our thoughts and art practice,” said Achintya Hazra.

“I thank White Paper and artist organiser Sonya Binta Hasan for this international art camp. We will draw the beautiful nature of Bangladesh, especially the beauty of Saint Martin Island. Through this art camp we can also learn from renowned artists like NB Gurung and other participants,” said Shahanoor Mamun.

“This is only four years of White Paper and we can organise this international art camp at Saint Martin. We are focusing on promoting Bangladesh and young artists of Bangladesh to the international arena. I thank all participants and senior artists of Bangladesh and the guests who came from Bangladesh from India and Nepal,” said Sonya Binta Hasan.

Alley Khan, Atikya Farjana Deena, Atiqe Mamun, Md Shamsuzzamn Lintu, Al Aksha, Zahangir Alom, MA Aslam Molla, Imran Hossain Imu, Farisa Mahmud, Laila Anjuman Ara and GM Joarder are Bangladeshi artists while Rajan Maharjan, Bikash Shakya, Shivani Rana Timilsina, Uddhav Gurung, Chitra Bahadur Budha Magar, Sudip Bisankhe and Rik Bahadur Gurung are Nepali artists who participate at this camp.
