A three-day jewellery exhibition titled 'Sutoy Buni Swapna, Anande Ganthi Mala’ (A celebration of dreams woven with threads of joy!) by Terre des Homes will begin on Saturday at La Galerie of Alliance Française de Dhaka, Dhanmondi in the capital.

The inaugural ceremony of the exhibition will be held on Saturday at 4 pm at La Galerie. Eminent author Prof. Dr Muhammad Zafar Iqbal will attend the event as the chief guest.

Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh) is a leading Swiss INGO focusing on child rights. Tdh is implementing a participatory action research programme, CLARISSA, to understand the drivers of the worst forms of child labour in the leather sector in Bangladesh.

Action-Research-Innovation in South and South-Eastern Asia (CLARISSA) is committed to build a participatory evidence base and generating innovative solutions to the worst forms of child labor in Bangladesh. As part of a participatory action research project, children attended a 5-day workshop facilitated by entrepreneur and designer Tahmina Khan Shaily from 'Shoilee'. The goal was to explore and create alternative income sources for the children and their families, challenge social norms about child labour, and enhance financial management skills. During the workshop, the child action researchers learned how to create unique jewellery pieces infused with their own emotions. To showcase their work and raise awareness, Terre des Hommes Foundation has organised a special exhibition titled 'Sutoy Buni Swapna, Anande Ganthi Mala’ (A celebration of dreams woven with threads of joy!) at Alliance Française de Dhaka.

The exhibition represents one of the positive outcomes of the group's efforts to develop safer and more dignified work opportunities for children currently involved in hazardous jobs within the leather sector.

The exhibition will be open to all every day from 3 pm to 9 pm till August 7.
