Urmila Srabonti Kar stands as a beacon of support for artists, extending a helping hand in times of adversity. It's not limited to the realm of artists alone; she has consistently lent her support to anyone facing challenges and crises.

Urmila's humanitarian side is well-known to all in the Bangladeshi acting community. Recently, when actress Afroz Jahan was confronted with cancer, Urmila took the initiative to raise funds and extended her support in various ways. She is also an active member of the Actors' Association and works tirelessly for the Welfare and Legal Affairs Committee.

This deep-seated commitment can be attributed to her family upbringing and early involvement in mainstream politics. Urmila believes that to make a difference in people's lives, one must first be a good human being. Her collaboration with director Jewel Rana on a UNICEF project aimed at increasing cancer awareness bears testament to her dedication to social causes.

Yesterday, amidst scorching heat, Urmila actively participated in the shooting of an informative graphic in Manikganj.

Urmila Srabanti said, "Before this, I have worked with informative illustrations based on various social issues. To be honest, I find working with this type of informative illustration very gratifying. Because, not only as an artist but also as a conscious individual, I try to show the path of problem-solving by highlighting various inconsistencies or problems in society.

"Being involved in the responsibility of making people aware of these issues is important. In order to increase awareness about cervical cancer among girls, I worked on this infographic for UNICEF yesterday. I hope that if it reaches a wider audience, it will benefit everyone."

Urmila's eagerly awaited film, "From Bangladesh," directed by Shahnewaz Kakoli, is on the horizon. She has also embarked on a new television series, "Ghorer Shotru Bibhishan," directed by Sajin Ahmed Babu. Soon, she will commence work on another series directed by Idris Haider.
