Violet Evergarden: The Movie releases Monday

Anime Limited will release Violet Evergarden: The Movie as a Collector's Edition on Monday, carrying the film on both 4K UHD and standard Blu-ray, as well as a standard Blu-ray edition.

The Collector's Edition will include the following extras: a 68-page booklet with artwork and interviews, a 12-page "special booklet" discussing the technical aspects of creating the film for its Dolby Cinema presentation; an A3 replica Japanese theatrical poster; 16 art cards featuring sketches and concept art; and a replica of a letter from the film.

The film is the conclusion to the Violet Evergarden story.

Anime Limited describes the film as follows: “Violet Evergarden, a former child soldier turned 'Auto Memory Doll; scribe, has made a name for herself writing letters that evoke the feelings her clients cannot, in pursuit of understanding the meaning behind the 'I love you' spoken to her long ago.

When a terminally ill boy asks her to fulfill one last request for his family, Violet must confront her own feelings of love, loss, and her past with the one who told her those cherished words in order to write one final letter.”

Meanwhile, Crunchyroll will release the Fruits Basket -prelude- anime film on Blu-ray and DVD the same day.

The film's returning English dub cast members include Lydia Mackay as Kyoko Honda, J Michael Tatum as Katsuya Honda, Laura Bailey as Tohru Honda, and Jerry Jewell as Kyo Soma.

Aside from a digest compilation of the series, the film includes the Kyо̄ko to Katsuya no Monogatari (Kyо̄ko and Katsuya's Story) anime that centers on the backstory of Tohru's parents Kyoko and Katsuya, which the 2019-2021 series did not adapt.

The film also includes new scenes – written specifically for the film by original manga creator Takaya – depicting events from after the television anime's story.

Ōhashi Trio performed the film's theme song "Niji to Kaito" (Rainbow and Kite). The film's returning English dub cast members include Lydia Mackay as Kyoko Honda, J. Michael Tatum as Katsuya Honda, Laura Bailey as Tohru Honda, and Jerry Jewell as Kyo Soma.

Crunchyroll will also release Season Two Part Two of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime on Blu-ray and DVD.

The story is described as follows, “Taking a break from his time as a teacher, the powerful slime Rimuru Tempest returns to his kingdom. When trying to return, Rimuru is stopped by a mysterious figure who is somehow able to constrain Rimuru's magical abilities.”
