In a recent development, Zayed Khan has had his membership revoked by the Film Artistes' Association. The decision was taken during the bi-annual general meeting held at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) on Saturday.

Actress Nipun Akter, the current General Secretary of the Bangladesh Film Artistes' Association (BFAA), addressed the media, citing reasons for the cancellation. She accused Khan of disseminating false and vulgar stories against the association and its members through various media platforms, including press conferences and social media channels.

Nipun highlighted that Khan's membership was unanimously terminated during a meeting held on April 2 of the previous year. She emphasized that no organisational weaknesses were found, leading to the cancellation.

Confirming the decision, Chief Election Commissioner Khorshed Alam Khosru, overseeing the 2024-26 elections of the Film Artistes' Association, stated that Khan's membership cancellation was announced during the general meeting preceding the association's picnic.

Responding to the cancellation, Zayed Khan expressed his dismay, stating that despite serving as the three-time elected General Secretary, he was not invited to the picnic and learned about the membership termination through media reports. Zayed asserted his indifference towards Nipun Akter's decisions, citing his adherence to organisational rules.

Zayed further alleged that the decision to revoke his membership was a strategic move by Nipun Akter to prevent him from participating in the upcoming elections. Despite this setback, Khan affirmed his intention to pursue legal action in response to the decision.
